Geocache Description:

Thank you to Dair Mor who placed this cache, and many others throughout Perthshire in 2010.

The Birks of Aberfeldy is a lovely place to explore, and gets busy at times, so stealth is required. It is thought that there has been continual woodland cover for up to 8000 years in this area.

Follow in the footsteps of the bard through the Birks – Scots for birch trees (Betula pendula) – which still cloak the steep slopes of the Moness gorge, along with oak (Quercus robur), ash (Fraxinus excelsior) and elm (Ulmus).
