The Ledge Loop Trail can be accessed off the East Side Trail near Skyline Drive in Green Hill Park. The East Side Trail is primarily a wooded trail, approximately 2.67 miles in length beginning at the Lions Gates in East Park on Shrewsbury Street, continues through Green Hill Park, around the golf course with a branch to Trinity Ave. The trail has now been extended down to Lake Quinsigamond. It is maintained by The Greater Worcester Land Trust. A map of the trails can be downloaded from the GWLT - East Side Trail Map.
The posted parking coordinates are for the ball field lot, parking is not permitted on Skyline Drive. There are several other parking lots nearby if the lot is full or locked. Trail access points are well marked as are the trails. There is a spur trail connecting to the East Side Trail if you come from the ball field area. The Ledge Loop Trail is steeper at the near end, if you need an easier more gradual access continue on the East Side Trail to the far end of the Ledge Loop Trail and follow the trail back to the cache. The far end of the loop connects with another short trail that will bring you to some rocks and a viewpoint overlooking the old and new Worcester State Hospital(s) and east towards Shrewsbury.
From the parking lot to the cache, round trip, is close to one mile. The container is an ammo can stocked with kid friendly items and an un-activated TB for the FTF. Congratulations to Mountain Prof for being first to find!
