I Tovetorp finns en av Stockholms universitets forsknings- och
grundutbildningsstationer. Den grundades 1969 och har byggts upp
med medel från Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse. Stationen hör
formellt till zoologiska institutionen, men även institutionen för
biologisk grundutbildning har kursverksamhet här. De discipliner
som studeras och lärs ut är framför allt etologi (Beteendelära) och
ekologi.
De som är mest kända på Tovetorp är nog hönsen, som har varit
med i ett inslag i barn- och ungdomsprogrammet Vetenskapsmagasinet
med namn "Hönsen på Tovetorp" - en slags dokusåpa eller reality
show.
Stationen är inte öppen för allmänheten och av hänsyn till
personalen och verksamheten är inte cachen placerad vid själva
forskningsstationen, utan i en skogsbacke på andra sidan fälten
söder om stationen. Om du följer vägen norrut från cachen passerar
du själva stationen.
Tovetorp is one of Stockholm University's research and education
centers. It was founded in 1969 and has been built with funds from

The inhabitants of most fame in Tovetorp is probably the
chickens, featured in a part of children's and youth television
program, "Vetenskapsmagasinet" (Science magazine) by name "Chickens
on Tovetorp" - a kind of reality show.
The station is not open to the public. To avoid dirturbances to
the staff and animals the cache is placed a bit away from the
station, in a forest on the other side fields to the south of the
