Thanks to Wikipedia for the folowing: A glacial erratic is a piece of rock that differs from the size and type of rock native to the area in which it rests. "Erratics" take their name from the Latin word "eree", and are carried by glacial ice, often over distances of hundreds of kilometres. Erratics can range in size from pebbles to large boulders such as Big Rock (16,500 tons) in Alberta.

You will get to meet a friendly family of Erratics that live in this Forest.

AT EACH ERRATIC CACHE A QUESTION IS TO BE ANSWERED - WHICH WILL TEST YOUR TREE I.D SKILLS A BIT (although I have been quite helpful here)

Erica's Question - How many stems does the Silver Birch (sivery/white bark/ hanging purple tinged branches/ small pointed leaves) on your Right Hand side just before Erica have? - Your answer = B

It is possible if you wish (but be aware of a short boggy and overgrown section) to continue on the trail beyond the Loch and then up through the fields to the road and then along the road to where you parked.

There are currently a few snow damage trees over the track in places, but it is not enough to impede progress to badly.

If the weather is fine why not tack a picnic to enjoy at the Bonus Cache location.
