Forrester Cemetery-Olympic Double Medalist Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Queens Blessing: The cache has been archived. It's a great place for a cache, so hopefully another cacher who lives closer than I do, will set a new one here!

Geocache Description:

The Forrester Cemetery has also been known as the Douglas Ridge Cemetery, or the Judd Cemetery. It is very well maintained.

Please be respectful when visiting this cemetery. Be careful where you trod and use respect at all times.

This cemetery is approximately a half acre in size and has been use since 1860.
In addition to many pioneers of Clackamas County, this cemetery is the final resting place of 2 time Olympic medalist Rick Sanders (January 20, 1945-October 18, 1972).

(You can visit Rick at N45.21.845 W 122.28.150)

Rick won a silver metal in the 1968 Mexico City Olympic Games the flyweight division, and another silver metal in the 1972 Munich Olympic Games in Germany in the bantamweight division, in freestyle wrestling. He was killed shortly after the Munich Olympics, in a head-on automobile accident in Yogoslavia. He had also won 3 Oregon State Championships while wrestling for Lincoln High School.

The cammoed, medium-sized cache should be very easy to find. There is a little room for trades as well as a log book. Be mindful of muggles (there is a busy nursery business next door).
