This is a regular to small size cache just off of a horse trail. Parking is nearby. Beware of the usual hazards ie: poison oak, snakes, ticks etc.
This cache has been named to honor my past and in anticipation of wonderful things to come. Years ago I took a trip with my brother to the gold country to do some antiquing and spend some time with him. At the time I was a young mother overwhelmed with being a stay at home Mom of two kids, financial struggles and a rocky marriage. I had never been away from my kids for about 3 years running and a little time away was long overdue! We had a great time doing things that we loved, taking our time and bonding. It was a trip that renewed my spirit, energy and I happily returned to my most important life’s work, being a Mother. That was a long time ago and I am now facing some of the most challenging times in my life.
Today I am heading off for a day of caching and antiquing following the same road I traveled so many years ago with my brother. This day begins with the placing of my first cache, at my side the man I have come to love and respect as no other man in my life, and my precious daughter. No, it is not with my brother this time, but someone I love beyond measure. He has been there for me over the last year in such a meaningful way I will never be able to fully express my love and gratitude to him. He has been supportive, loving, and listened with endless patience to me as I have expressed my fears, regret and anger over the harsh things like has dealt me. He has shown me tirelessly that that “Life is Good.” He has opened his heart and life to my family and I. Recently we started caching together with my daughter and our merry band of misfit friends. My brother, now known to the caching crowd as E(vil) Thor, came up to visit us and was warmly accepted and taught “The Ways Of The Cache” by our wise teacher. I would like to thank TRAK(d) for giving me hope again, renewed energy, strength and love.
