This cache is the successor to our first “We Love
Libraries” Cache, which we archived to make room for newer
caches. We love libraries! What a great place to spend a few hours
on a rainy day. Home base for tessandfriends is the Saline District
Library. It was recently expanded and renovated and is a fantastic
facility. Come visit our library and see if you can find the easy
cache hidden along the nearby trails with the permission of the
Library Director.
Library Hours:
Monday - Thursday 9 am - 9 pm
Friday & Saturday 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm
In order to find the cache, visit the Library and determine the
answers to the following questions:
There is a display of marionettes inside the library. According
to the display, in what year did the creator of these marionettes
retire? Add together the four digits of the year – this is
A.
In the Saline Historical Room, find a framed print showing a
“Birds Eye View of Saline” – what year is
depicted in this print? Add together the four digits of the year
– this is B
Multiply A times B and add the product, in the format
0.XXX, to both the N and W coordinates of the following
location:
N 42 10.270 W 083 46.211
The cache is located just off of one of the footpaths in the
eleven acre wooded area south of the library. Don’t be
confused by the Letter Box hidden in the same general area. Poison
ivy is abundant in these woods, but if you stay on the footpaths
you should have no problem.
