Be a part of Washington-Centerville Public Library's 200th
Anniversary celebration by participating in our Historical Geocache
Adventure! There will be 12 geocache sites. Each is located in
Washington Township, Ohio or Centerville, Ohio and has some
significance to Washington-Centerville Public Library’s 200
year history. New coordinates will be posted each month, and each
cache will be left in place for at least 3 months.
This cache is located in the park named after William Yeck. His
wife was Dorothy R. Yeck, who served as a member of the
Washington-Centerville Public Library Board of Trustees for 28
years. She was instrumental in making our library great! Under her
leadership, the original Woodbourne Library was designed,
constructed, and opened to the public in 1980. Mrs. Yeck was a
life-long supporter of libraries, a proponent of reading, and an
advocate for library services to children. She left an endowment that continues to positively influence the
lives of children in our community.
Special thanks to Centerville-Washington Park District for
allowing us to use Bill Yeck Park in our Historical Geocache
Adventure.
