Geocache hide it in 65 years after.

Cache point is in Hossho Shrine about the Tatsuno town in Nagano Prefecture.
It is a quiet Shinto shrine surrounded by the throat Japanese syllabary field.

Aruga Kosaku's monument has been built here. Aruga Kosaku is a navy man of the Imperial Japanese Navy of the local coming from.
Who is Aruga Kosaku?

(He was posthumously promoted two steps in rank to vice admiral.)

The end of Pacific War, the Imperial Japanese Navy lost many of leading war potentials. A little survived capital ship was not able to act due to the fuel shortage, and was connected with the Kure naval port. A large fleet was concentrating Allied Forces on the Okinawa main island offing aiming at landing on Japan proper at the end of March in 1945. On the other hand, a Japanese army came to make "Operation Ten-Go" moved for the defense and to organize the fleet that centered on Japan, and to make it make a sortie to the Okinawa main island offing. It was a suicide attack operation of bombarding it as a fixed artillery after the fleet was made to rush into the main Okinawa island and the warship was stranded. Therefore, it is said that the fuel piled up only one way.

"Yamato" is connected to Yamato Province with the political power that unites Japan first.
Moreover, itself Japan might be indicated.

Having been appointed as a battleship Yamato captain before this half a year is Aruga Kosaku.

It became air power and a combat of Allied Forces while toward on April 7, 1945.
Allied Forces were deciphering the code of the Japanese navy.
Then, the fleet was waited for off the coast of southwest Kyushu.
Yamato having been attacked by the aircraft of 386 planes sank here. Both fates were done that Captain Aruga and Yamato. It was age at death 49 years old.
Six including Yamato was finally sunk by the last water operation that the Imperial Japanese Navy planned and had carried out. The war potential was annihilated to the Imperial Japanese Navy by this in fact.

キャッシュポイントは、長野県上伊那郡辰野町の法性(ほっしょう)神社にあります。
のどかな田畑に囲まれた静かな神社です。

ここには、有賀幸作(あるがこうさく)の記念碑が建っています。
地元では「有賀」はアリガではなくアルガと読みます。
有賀幸作とは、地元出身の日本海軍軍人です。
(海軍で何時まで経っても誰もアルガと読んでくれない為、幸作も諦めてアリガと言っていたそうです)
有賀幸作とは誰でしょう?

太平洋戦争末期、日本海軍は主力戦力の多くを失っていました。
生き残ったわずかな主力艦艇は、燃料不足のために行動することが出来ず、呉軍港に繋がれていました。
1945年3月末に連合軍は、日本本土への上陸作戦に向けて大艦隊が沖縄本島沖に集結していました。
これに対して日本軍は防衛のため「天号作戦」を発動させて旗艦大和を中心とする艦隊を編成し、沖縄本島沖へ出撃させることとなりました。
艦隊を沖縄本島に突入させて艦を座礁させた上で、固定砲台として砲撃を行うという特攻作戦でした。
そのため、燃料は片道分しか積んでなかったといわれています。

この半年前に、戦艦大和艦長として任命されていたのが有賀幸作です。

1945年4月7日に沖縄に向かう途中、連合軍の航空戦力と戦闘になりました。
日本軍の暗号を傍受していた連合軍は、九州南西沖で艦隊が来るのを待ち構えていたのです。
386機の航空機に攻撃された大和はここで沈没しました。
有賀艦長も大和と運命を共にしました。享年49歳でした。
日本海軍が立案、決行した最後の水上作戦で、最終的に大和を含む6隻が撃沈されました。
これで日本海軍は事実上戦力が壊滅しました。
