Celebrating the Geofogies & their 13,000+ finds Traditional Cache
TurtleFan: I was in the area hunting one of the Geofogies' hides and thought I'd check on this one since I hadn't seen it in a long time and I like the container a lot. Disappointingly, once I arrived at GZ, I noticed that half of the original host was missing and instead of the cache, a big bottle was in its spot. I walked around looking at some other possible hosts, but nothing. Very sorry to see this disappear. Since it was a special container, I can't really replace it as such. Well, the Geofogies are about to reach a milestone that surpasses this one by about 6000 so perhaps its okay to retire this one. Thanks to those who hunted it.

I'm placing this cache in honor of the Geofogies' many contributions to the Geocaching community and in celebration of their 13,000+ finds. Congratulations and thank you!
This is a largish small, but only holds a log so no trade items, I'm afraid. This is a somewhat unusual container and not one that reflects the Geofogies in any particular way, but when I recently saw them, one of them mentioned such a potential cache so I ran with the idea.
Something larger would likely be more fitting of the occasion, but one could argue that when you've reached 13K+ caches little is going to be really worthy so I just went with something a bit different instead.
I placed this cache in a forest preserve that so far only holds two caches despite having room for more. And you guessed it, the two other caches here were placed by the Geofogies. They were some of the first caches I hunted so they hold special meaning to me. There is also another cache across the road that they placed, another neat hid.
If you haven't had a chance to hunt those caches yet, here's another reason to stop by the area. If you have already gotten all those, this is another opportunity to check out this forest.
You may need boots for this one. It's not too far in from the grassy area and it's not a tricky hide at all, but as you likely know, GPS coordinates in the woods can be off so hunting this may require looking in a few places.
