Geocache Description:

A short drive from the highway on a well maintained county road.

4 years ago we placed the cache "Boonies or Bust" (GCMGGV) and on the way back to Del Rio took the Juno Road shortcut. It had been a very wet year in this area and at a major (normally bone dry) low water crossing we found water flowing. Misjudged it's depth and got the PU stuck in the center. Keep in mind this was toward evening and the nearest tow truck would have to come from Sonora or Del Rio, each 80 or so miles away. We had remembered passing a phone repair crew a short distance back. So I waded to the bank and down the road till I came on them. It was just about their quitting time. Told them what happened and the said I was not the first. They had to pull one other pickup out today and then one of their trucks had got stuck in the same place. The took their tractor and me back to the scene. I waded back to the truck (other half of double agents has stayed put. He got the tractor in position and we suspend the spare tire between the bucket and my bumper. He told me to get back in the truck put it in low and "gun it" while he pushed. It worked. Thanked the man, offered to pay but he refused and we proceeded on the the highway. What a relief. Moral: avoid low crossing with water flowing.
