By the side of the road near where the footpath crosses Chapel Lane and very near to the Chapel itself.

This is the fifth of a small series of caches placed around the Village of Catforth. The series makes a lovely 5.5 mile walk along country lanes, canal tow path and footpaths. All can be accessed by bicycle although you may have to double back on yourself at some point and you would cover about 9 miles. For the less energetic most can be done as drive by with perhaps just a short walk once suitable road side parking has been found. You may encounter farm traffic and the roads are very narrow in places so please take care and be considerate to other road users when trying to park.
If you are walking, now might be the opportunity to sit and have a rest, although I have to admit that the bench is somewhat dilapidated. Shouldn’t take you long to retrieve the cache.
If you are in need of refreshment there are two pubs in Catforth.
‘The Bay Horse’ at the end of the road (sorry not visited and up for sale at the time of placing the cache) or ‘The Running Pump’ 53° 49.129'N 002° 47.777'W that people do recommended and is dog friendly. It would then be a simple walk back to where you started taking and stopping for Catforth #9.
