Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series, set around the beautiful area of Bleasdale. The entire series can be done in around 5.5 hours, or it can be split into two circular routes, taking half the time. The walk follows private estate roads which are also public footpaths.

A small clip box located next to Bleasdale Circle. Bring your own pencil!

Bleasdale is part of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are breathtaking views along the paths around here and great spots for bird watching, especially lapwings.

Be careful with dogs, especially during lambing season and nesting periods.

The Bleasdale Circle is a complex circular monument, probably built in several separate phases and dating to the Bronze Age.

The Bleasdale circle is situated in the centre of a peat moss known as Edmarsh, which is situated between the two headstreams of the River Brock, at the foot of Fair Snape Fell. It was discovered in 1898 by J. Kelsall and S.Jackson, and partly excavated by them during 1898-1900. In 1933-5 re-excavation of the whole site was carried out under the direction of W.S. Varley, since it was suspected that the published plans were not strictly accurate.
