CAN THE NEXT PERSON WHO FINDS THIS CACHE PLEASE REMOVE IT AND I WILL THEN ARCHIVE IT. I not longer cache and do not have the ability to access this one to remove it. Please feel free to reuse the container. Thanks You are driving into an alpine area. Make sure that you are prepared for the extremes of conditions that you may experience in this type of area. It is very hot in summer and likely to be in-accessible in winter. The road to this location is an unsealed road. It is very rough, corragated and potholed. You will very likely encounter gates that MUST be left as found - and cattle. Make sure that you vehicle is suitable. It is 'possible' to drive this road in a 2WD, but I won't take the Merc!!! When the Molesworth Road is open during summer a ranger lives nearby and there will very likely be muggles about. (But you can drive within about 50 metres of the cache location at this time.) This cache is likely to be visited only once or twice a year. PLEASE make sure that you leave it secure and well sealed. We advise NOT leaving travel bugs or coins as they could be there for a long time. Acheron Accommodation House is the only one of an original seven accomodation house (hotels) between Hanmer and Blenheim that remains. The cobb house was built in 1863 and over 140 years later is still standing strong. This location is the beginning of the Molesworth Road that is open to public access for only a couple of months a year.
