WBJ - Smedjebacken
Wessman-Barkens Jernväg hade i öster Smedjebacken som ändstation och huvudstation. Där byggdes stationshus, lokomotivstall, vagnshus, magasin, en bod för koks och en plattform med tak.
Smedjebacken var på den tiden en stor industriort och det var Smedjebackens Valsverk som var den stora industrin som höll handel och transporter i gång. Här möttes Strömsholms kanal och järnvägen och stora mängder passagerare och gods bytte kommunikationsmedel.
The Wessman-Barken Railway had its eastern terminal station in Smedjebacken and it was also main station for the railway. Station building, engine shed, wagon shed, warehouse, coke store building and a platform with roof.
Smedjebacken was at that time a big industrial centre and it was Smedjebacken's rolling mill that was the big industry that kept trading and transports running. This was the meeting point for Strömsholm's canal and the railway and a lot of passengers and goods changed means of communications.
I huset till höger var stationen inrymd. Dagens brandstation är byggd där dessa byggnader stod.
På området närmare hamnen kan du fortfarande se lokstall med lok, en av de vaktkurer som fanns vid vägkorsningar och godsmagasin. Lok och vagnar kommer inte från WBJ utan från det närbelägna Smedjebackens Valsverk.
In the area closer to the harbor you still can see engine shed with engine, one of the huts for guards at road crossings and warehouses. The engine and the wagons is not from the WBJ but comes from the Smedjebackens rolling mill plant nearby.
