Geocache Description:

We have set this series around the beautiful downland village of East Garston in celebration of our first year of caching.

There are 23 caches in the series plus a bonus puzzle cache. Walking the series is about 8 miles but it could easily be split into two roughly equal parts.

The walking route is mostly on public footpaths with a couple of short stretches on minor roads. However it does pass through farmland, game covers and racing gallops, so care should be taken when near sheep, cattle, game birds and racehorses. Keep to the paths and please keep dogs under control. A bull is sometimes in the fields between caches 1 and 3. Although most of the paths are well kept, some can get muddy in the winter and nettles can be a problem in the summer. There are a few stiles and kissing gates and a few steep inclines. However the views and peace compensate for all of this.

The best place to park is in the village of East Garston.
“Walkers” are usually welcome to park in the Village Hall car park
Post code RG17 7EX Co-ordinates N 51°29.327 W 001°28.644

We hope you enjoy this beautiful area. Apart from the spectacular views there are regular sightings of deer, rabbits, hares and Red Kite. In the season you will also find snowdrops, bluebells and other wild flowers.

In each of four of the series you will find a partial “clue” to the location of the BONUS PUZZLE CACHE. Please do not remove them from the caches and replace them where you find them.

CACHES
There is a variety of containers to keep you guessing. The cache titles give subtle clues and the hints should help you find any difficult ones, so don't sneak a peek if you want to add to the challenge. Some of the smaller micro containers may require a pointy tool to help retrieve the log book and do not contain a pencil.

THIS CACHE is a 1/2 litre snap top container.
