There are so many reasons to love Mercer County Park, but I decided we needed one more. I came to this area to find a nearby cache and I liked the area so much that I kept hiking the trails to find a good spot for another cache. This part of the park is much quieter than the southern side of the lake and I don’t know if I ever would have made it over here if it wasn’t for geocaching. Enjoy the solitude and the trail.
The hike is an easy one for kids to make and the cache is packed with kid friendly swag!
Take Post Road down to the lake and park in the parking lot for the boat house. I'm not sure why there are “Road Closed” signs on this road, but the road is definitely open. This is the only way to access this side of the lake for fishing and to get to the U.S. Rowing Training Center. The cache is located less than ½ mile from the parking area.
