Geocache Description:

You are looking for a regular lock 'n' lock in the northern part of the 909.

When I started caching last year and had questions, I was lucky enough to have a local cacher to turn to. JaMaBo has always offered advice, help, and encouragement for both my hides and my finds. It’s always been appreciated! Her logs are always thoughtful and encouraging. But despite what she has written, I have not (yet) gone after a FTF in my pajamas!

This cache is placed so you have something else to search for after you’ve drudged up the hill in this section of the 909. The blue trail here looks like it was the trail of a giant snake – it is one S curve after another. The trick with this trail is to know when to follow the trail and when to follow your instincts and the gpsr. The trail appears to be the easy (in elevation changes) way to go, but is definitely not the shortest. Twenty feet of off the trail hiking can result in 120 feet saved. Check out a local bike club’s website – Fats in the Cats – and follow the links to the best trail map we’ve found.

About the bird: Bobolinks won’t likely be found in these woods , but they can be found in local meadows and fields in Dutchess County in May.

JaMaBo – this one’s for you!
