Geocache Description:

Sponsored by the Wapello County Conservation Board
& WACkOSAGO

Everything will start off at the Nature Center. This will be a Geocaching 101 class for anyone that wants or needs to learn about Geocaching. We will also have 20 temporary caches to hunt. We also have many permanents in the area if you have not found them. We would like to see people come from near and far but I must stress the temps will be quick and easy due to this being a 101. We are not planning on any new caches at this time, but if you need some numbers or just want to come out we hope to see you. Everyone is welcome!!!!!

BRING YOUR CABLES! If you don't you will need to load coord's MANUALLY!!!

The current plan is 8:00 ~ 8:45 load TEMP caches for those that are coming to just hunt and also stand around telling stories, talking, getting to know each other etc., etc., etc. As you will see below I would like to be done loading caches so we can proceed with the class. Once you have the caches loaded feel free to hunt. The temps will be very close to each other so do not expect a big hike. BUT if you want the hike you can also go after all the other caches in the area. We have plenty at this park and yes hiking is involved. We hope to have approximately 10 loaner units so if you do not have a GPS we can set you up.The center will be locked up at 12:00 so loaner units will need to be back at that time.

Times: 8:45 ~ 9:00 - the computer will be switched over for use on the class. 9:00 ~ 10:00 - 101 class and discussion. 10:00 ~ 12:00 - get to know your GPS and hunt caches. Several of the temps should be wheelchair accessible with very little assistance and the class portion is also. The Ridge has a very nice short paved trail that is perfect for wheelchairs and strollers. Also with the time of day I recommend maybe bring some snacks and drinks or just stay and have a picnic. This is a great park. I will leave the temps out until Sunday when they will be removed.
