OK it's back, to every one who has been watching this cache it has had an interesting history in its short life so far. That all I'll say here. If you want to check out the history check Beach # 3 WARNING SPOILERS !!! This page contains details that could be spoilers if you haven't already been to the cache.
This cache is located on a public footpath on Point Loma, with great views of the Shelter Island, Coranado, Point Loma and even Down Town. Cache has a single offset waypoint, otherwise it would be just too easy. Details of the final cache position can be found at the position above.
Hint waypoint 1:
You are looking for the primary colours elevated by about 1 m and pull. Satellite coverage in the area can be poor hence the extra clue.
Hint final cache:
Cache is a small rubbermaid container. Approach from the water side is best, no need to get your feet wet or to step on the plants. Sit a while take in the view !!
At no time is it necessary to go onto private property or step on the ground cover plants. There are numerous ways onto this pathway but one good starting point is N 32 43.086' W 117 14.010', there is usually plenty of parking on the side streets. Total round trip distance from the above point is under a mile with a short tarmac section. You will figure it out.
The flowers on this pathway in the Spring were spectacular. Cache is night-time accessible and dogs are allowed between 6pm and 9am leashed, so the sign says. Area can be popular and the final cache placement is sorta overlooked so some skulking may be required.
If you like boats this is a real yacht fest and to the South of the final cache position you may see some of the Scripps Oceanography research vessels and the famous FLIP.
First found credit goes to Monteverde & Mark71mark who both found the final cache position on the 11-11-01 in the caches previous incarnation. Credit also goes to 'I found it but its not listed' who kickstarted me into getting this posting done.
Take it easy everyone, Zcat
