These earthcache leads you to five
glacial erratics, spread over Potsdam.
What is a glacial erratic?
A glacial erratic is a piece of rock that differs from the size and type of rock native to the area in which it rests. They came with the glacial ice from Skandinavia, the ground of the Baltic Sea or -seldom- from the surrounding to Potsdam
What is special with a glacial erratic?
In former times man thought that giants thrown the stones. Since the 19.th century scientists know, that the glacial erratics were moved from far away to its place.
Each of these glacial erratics -except the "Schwedenstein"- are
natural monuments, protected by local law, because they are "telling" a story about the history of earth, they are rare, they have a special character and they are interesting for sciences: From its composite and
fabric scientists are able to define the way of the ice in the
glacier

You have to answer the following questions to log this cache as "found" (you will find all questions with the waypoints, too):
1. Next to the "Fliederstein" you will see some blue signs and a red framed sign. Which number is on the red framed sign at the top next to the letter "H"?
2. You will find a colour on the "Wildschweinstein" which gets there on an unnatural way. What colour is it (in german)?
3. Around the "Golfstein" you will find more larger stones. How many larger stones (a child could'nt lift them) -without the boulder- can you count on the lawn? The answer is the cipher/are the ciphers.
4. What is the estimate weight of this "Schwedenstein"? The answer is the cipher/are the ciphers of the downrounded weight in (metric) tons (1 ton = 1000 kg).
5. Measure the length of the north-east side of the "Babelsbergstein". The answer ist the cipher/are the ciphers of the length, rounded in meters.
