Geocache Description:

After the success of our previous series of caches in Sandwell Valley, we thought it would be a good idea to set up a series in Brum. As you may know Birmingham is made up of small districts known as Quarters, so we came up with a plan to place a cache in each Quarter:

The Jewellery Quarter
The Gun Quarter
The Irish Quarter
The Chinese Quarter
The Convention Quarter
The Millennium Quarter
The Business Quarter

The Chinese Quarter

The Chinese Quarter of Birmingham, is located in the city centre's Southside. It is an area with a predominantly Chinese influence as a result of a concentration of Chinese owned businesses, organisations and social clubs.

Many of the buildings in the area have Chinese architectural features and art including Chinese style roofs and wall murals in the Arcadian Centre depicting historical scenes typical of the Silk Road.

The Chinese Quarter is located between the Bullring Shopping Complex in the North, the Irish Quarter in Digbeth and the Theatre District to the East, the Arcadian Centre and Gay Village to the South.

The Birmingham Hippodrome is a theatre situated on Hurst Street. Although best known as the home stage of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, it also hosts a wide variety of other performances.

The cache is a micro. There is only a log inside the container, so please bring a pen with you. We have tried to ensure that the co-ords are as accurate as possible, if you find them to be different to the ones listed then please let us know. Please re-hide the cache carefully to avoid it getting muggled.
