Naxos is a big island. You may want to rent a car, motorbike or bicycle if you plan on exploring the island, or have your own. Naxos is also truly blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Greece.
Long stretches of golden sand and the most beautiful color of blue sea you will ever see. But except the beaches Naxos has many other beautiful places to see.
So, I decide to make a new series of caches in Naxos Island and spot some unknown places to those who visit the island and want not only to visit the known and cosmopolitan parts of it.
This is the seventh one of this series. The cache will bring you in the area of Agios Georgios, near the most northern village of Naxos Apollon.
On the road from village Mesi to Apollon at N37° 09.508, E025° 33.340 there is the sign to Agios Georgios, an isolated beach with a small country church. From there begin the cement road which you have to take for approach the cache area. The road at the beggining is in good condition and you can follow it even with a normal car. When finish the cement road and begin the dirty road if you have a normal car is better to leave it and continue to walk the dirty road to the point N37° 10.075, E025° 34.083. The cache area is not far away from that point. If you have a 4x4 car, a bike or a moto continue the dirty road to the above point. From that point you have to proceed on foot.
From the cache spot you will have a beautiful view of the deep sea and the other islands around Naxos.
PLEASE !!! be very careful, especially if you have young children with you, because next to cache is steep cliff.
