Welcome to Project Smiley - A series of caches dedicated to the fun side of Geocaching. I will provide the eyes, nose and mouth,and visitors are encouraged to complete the outside circle using the containers and instructions in the 'Keimzelle' seed cache - This will result in a smiley nearly 3km wide, similar to the following:
Die "Schwarzwaldrunde" (SWR) ist eine schöne 14 km lange Wanderung südlich von Gültlingen. Die Runde hat über 20 Stages und bietet großartige Ausblicke. Jede Stage ist auch ein eigener Cache. Die Schwierigkeit der einzelnen Stages reicht von einfach bis sehr schwierig. Deshalb bekommt Ihr bei jeder Stage die Koordinaten der folgenden zwei. Damit könnt Ihr die Runde auch dann weiterführen, wenn Ihr eine einzelne Stage nicht gefunden habt. Für den richtig anspruchsvoller Cacher: die Runde kann zweimal genossen werden ... einmal für alle geraden Cachenummern und einmal für alle ungeraden. Dadurch erhöht sich der Durchschnittsabstand zwischen Caches von 500m auf 1km - vielleicht besonders interresant für die Radler unter euch.
Projekt Smiley will jeden zum Lächeln bringen, und auch Euch wird diese Runde sicherlich gefallen. "SWR_00" ersetzt den "MoCache", der eine GCVote Bewertung von nur 2.3 hatte. Ich hoffe, diese Runde hier wird sehr viel besser ankommen. In gewisser Weise ist dies eine Hommage an Geocaching, denn jeder Stage ist nach einem anderen Geocache benannt oder ähnelt einem anderen Geocachename. Das soll bei Euch angenehme Erinnerungen hervorrufen an schöne Punkte, die Ihr besucht habt und an Rätsel, die Ihr gelöst habt.
Die Runde führt zum größten Teil über geschotterte Wege, teilweise auch über Waldpfade oder Asphalt. Es ließ sich nicht vermeiden, dass Ihr ab und zu die Strasse überqueren müsst. Lange Hosen sind stark anzuraten, weil das Gras zwischen SWR_00 und SWR_01 und nochmals zwischen SWR_17 und SWR_18 hoch ist. Wer radeln will sollte ein Gelände-gängiges Rad haben und nicht bange sein, es notfalls länger bergauf zu schieben.
In der Regel werdet Ihr die üblichen "Project Smiley" Filmdosen finden. Manche Dosen sind auch größer. SWR_13 wurde absichtlich so versteckt, dass das Finden schwierig ist. Das Verstecken hat mir viel Spaß gemacht. Meine halb-Muggle "alpha Tester" konnten diese Dose nicht finden. Ich bin gespannt, wie viele von Euch sie finden werden.
Achtung: Jede Stage enthält die Koordinaten der folgenden zwei Stages in abgekürzter Form. Gelegentlich sind auch Anweisungen und Referenzpunkte dabei (Ref:), die das Finden der Route erleichtern sollen. Alle Koordinaten haben die Form NNNN-EEEE. Zum Beispiel entspricht die Angabe 8765-4567 den Koordinaten N48°38.765 E8°44.567.
Einige Stages geben Euch ein Rätsel für die SWR Bonus Caches mit auf den Weg. Nehmt etwas zu schreiben mit! Die Rätsel erhaltet Ihr mindestens zwei Stages vor dem dazugehörigen Bonus, damit Ihr beim Laufen genügend Zeit zum Knobeln habt. In den ersten, letzten und Bonus Caches findet Ihr noch einmal Project Smiley Bonus Werte, die ich irgendwann in der Zukunft verwenden will ;o)
Die Attribute für SWR_00 beziehen sich auf die gesamte Runde ohne die Bonus Caches (und nicht nur für diesen Cache hier). Die Attribute "May require wading" und "Flashlight required" gelten auch für einen der Bonus Caches (der ja optional ist). Die Attribute bei den anderen Cache Beschreibungen gelten nur für diesen Cache selbst.
Die Runde kommt erst nach dem Final wieder zum Startpunkt zurück, deswegen empfiehlt es sich, alle Stages in einem Zug zu besuchen. Bitte nehmt Rücksicht auf die Natur: Respektiert das "Not available at night" und genießt die gesamte Runde bei Tageslicht! Ihr solltet 4-6 Stunden für das Laufen und Suchen einplanen.
Beachtet bitte ganz besonders die Attribute und die Beschreibung von SWR_13 und den Bonus "Licht am ende ..." !
Diese Runde ist für Kinder geeignet, allerdings nur wenn die Kinder lange Strecken gut durchhalten. Dann aber garantiere ich den Eltern eine anschließende ruhige Nacht. :o)
Um die Koordinaten möglichst präzise zu ermitteln habe ich diese Runde mehrfach gedreht . Bei SWR_05 Hidden Canyon ist der Empfang schlecht und die Koordinaten scheinen zu springen - es gibt deswegen ein Hint. In allen anderen Fällen bin ich an Euren Erfahrungen interessiert, falls Ihr größere Abweichungen feststellen solltet.

The SWR "Schwarzwaldrunde" or "Black Forest Tour" is a super 14km walk to the south of Gueltlingen with over 20 caches and many great views on the way. The cache difficulty varies from easy to challenging so each stage contains the coordinates of the next two caches to ensure that the tour can be completed even if a stage is not found. For those of you who like challenges you can split the round and enjoy it twice ... doing it once for all the even cache numbers and once for all the odd. That way, the average 500m between caches increases to 1km - perhaps of special interest to cyclists.
Project Smiley is intended to make everyone smile and I am sure you will enjoy this tour :o) "SWR_00" replaces the "MoCache" which had a average GCVote rating of only 2.3 and I really hope to see much higher ratings for the new round :D It is somewhat of a homage to GeoCaching with each of the stages named after (or similar to) another GeoCache, hopefully bringing back happy memories of places you have visited or puzzles you have completed.
Most of the walk is along gravel tracks but the track quality varies from narrow woodland to wide tar. There are a few unavoidable road crossings but the walk is kept away from roads as much as possible. Long trousers are recommended due to the grass between SWR_00 and SWR_01 and again between SWR_17 and SWR_18. Any bikes that can handle rough paths can be used but there is a long uphill stretch where many cyclists will want to walk ... a challenge for BerndQ and others ;o)
The majority of caches are standard "Project Smiley" film canisters but the first and final caches are somewhat larger. SWR_13 is deliberatly difficult to find and I had a lot of fun preparing it. My half-muggle "alpha testers" did not find it so I am really looking forward to see how many finds there are :o)
Important: Each cache contains the abbreviated coordinates of the next two stages plus occasional instructions and reference points (Marked 'Ref') to make the intended route clearer. All coordinates are encoded in the form NNNN-EEEE. For example, the coordinates 8765-4567 translate to N48°38.765 E8°44.567.
A few of the caches contain puzzles for on the way and the solutions allow you to find the SWR bonus caches. Take some paper with you! The puzzles are always at least two stages before the bonus to give you time to solve them while walking. The first, the last and the bonus caches contain Project Smiley Bonus numbers which I really am planning to use but haven't got round to yet ;o)
The attributes of SWR_00 are the attributes for the entire tour without bonus caches (and not for this particular cache)! Note that "May require wading" and "Flashlight required" also apply to one of the Bonus caches which is optional! The attributes for all the other published caches only apply to that single stage.
The tour only returns to the starting point after the final so it should ideally be completed at one go on a single day. In order to avoid disturbing nature please respect the "not available at night" attribute and start early enough to complete it in daylight (4-6 hours walking including time for searching).
Please pay special attention to the attributes / descriptions of SWR_13 and the Bonus "Licht am ende ..." !
The tour is marked suitable for kids. It is a long way so it is suitable for kids with a lot of stamina - I can almost guarantee the parents a quiet night afterwards :o)
The round was walked several times on different days in order to get the coodinates as accurate as possible. The reception at SWR_05 Hidden Canyon is often poor so coordinates are likely to jump around, so it has a hint. Otherwise, if your measured coordinates are still significantly different please mail me your values.
