Geocache Description:

A Series by Mrs Amatuber. For the coffee lover in you.

Legend has it, coffee was discovered by an Ethiopian goat herder named Kaldi. One day, he noticed his goats frolicking around in an unusually spirited manner. He observed that they were also eating the berries of a nearby shrub.

Not being one to be left out of all the fun, he decided to try the berries himself. He was energized and pleased with the effects the cherries had on him. He told his friends and soon word spread throughout the region. The rest is history.

The British may have invented “Tea Time” but America invented the “Coffee
Break”. The practice began in WW II era war effort factories to give workers a brief rest and a jolt of caffeine. Thanks to a clever advertising campaign in the mid 1950s by the Pan American Coffee Bureau, 70-80% of American workers were taking a coffee break – both factory and office workers. General Eisenhower used the coffee break idea for “Operation Coffee Cup” during his presidential campaign to meet with voters, which continued to spread the social trend of the coffee break.

I love the smell of fresh ground coffee in the morning. I created this series because I love coffee. These are a few of my favorites. I hope you enjoy the series.

Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte – Dolce is Italian for “sweet.” This is just a skinnier version. To simplify your order it’s called skinny. Now you don’t have to stand in line behind that person that orders a café latte with nonfat milk, sugar free cinnamon syrup, hold the whip and well let’s just make it 215 degrees!
