Herzlich Willkommen am „Historischen Pfad- Grauwackeabbau“.
Um diesen Cache loggen zu können benötigt ihr ein Senklot (ca. 5m) und eine Möglichkeit ein oder mehrere Fotos zu machen.
Dieser Earthcache führt euch zu der Barleber Grauwackeabbaustelle. Hier wurde im Tagebau Grauwacke gewonnen.
Der Name Grauwacke lässt sich aus seiner Farbe und seiner Bedeutung ableiten. „Grau“, da der Stein grau als Basisfarbe besitzt und zusätzliche leicht grün schimmert. „Wacke“ ist ein altdeutscher Begriff für Wackersteine.
Der eigentliche geologische Name des Gesteins ist Litharenit und gehört somit du den Sandsteinen(das ist nicht die Lösung für C!).
Parken könnt ihr bei N52°11.865 E011°35.800.
Bei N52°11.799 E011°35.730 findet ihr eine Tafel, die den Grauwackeabbau in Barleben beschreibt und einige geologischen Fakten darlegt.
Findet hier folgende Informationen heraus:
A=Tiefe des Barleber Steinbruchs
B= Seit wann gibt es diesen Steinbruch?
C=Was ist Grauwacke (Klasse, Einzahl)
D=Wie hoch ist der Grundmasseanteil?
Messt außerdem mithilfe des Lotes die Höhe der rechten Steinsäule.
Rundet die Höhe auf volle Zwanziger auf. Beispiel: 1.4m->1.4m 1.35m->1.4m 1.5m-> 1.6m
E=gerundete Höhe der Säule
Geht nun den Weg weiter Richtung NordWest. Nach einigen Metern findet ihr ein Schild, dass die heutige Verwendung des Steinbruchs anzeigt.

Begebt euch nun auf den Hügel bei N52°11.842 E011°35.560.

Geht nun zu den Bänken bei N52°11.881 E011°35.550.
Nun geht es langsam wieder zum Auto. Geht dabei über die Brücke N52°11.859 E011°35.724 .
Stellt euch zu dem mittleren stromaufwärts gelegenen Pfeiler. Versenkt nun euer Lot in dem Bach und ermittelt die Höhe vom Grund bis zum obersten Querträger der Brücke.
Rundet die Höhe auf volle Vierziger. Beispiel: 1m->1m 1.2m->1.4m 1.6m->1.8m 1.9m->2.0m
G= gerundete Höhe

To do this Cache you need a Camera and a plummet about 5 meters.
This earthcache is showing you the greywackestone surface mining in Barleben. The name greywacke stone results vom the grey color and the old name „wacke“.
The original geological name is Litharenit which belongs to the class of sandstone(thats not the result for C!).
You can park your car at: N52°11.865 E011°35.800.

Here you can find Information about the greywacke-mining in Barleben. Also there are some geological Information. Note the following Information.
A=Deepness of the Barleber Steinbruch
B=The year of the first mining at this place
C=The class of the greywacke-stone(sgl.)
D=How much is the portion of basic measurements?
Also take the height of the right stone pillar.
Take the height and round this on full 0.2meters. Example:1.4m->1.4m 1.35m->1.4m 1.5m->1.6m
E=rounded height.
Take the way northwest. After a few meters you will find a sign of the usage in these days of this lake.
F=0993(temporary bad readable, so this is the solution until the number is fixed)

Take a little break .
This is the last task for you. Go to the bridge at: N52°11.859 E011°35.724
Stay at the middle pillar of the west side. Bring your plummet down to ground and take the height to the highest beam across.
Round this to full 0.40cm. Example: 1m ->1m 1.2m->1.4m 1.6m->1.8m 1.9m->2.0m
G= rounded height
