East Enders Exercise Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

StageArchive: I'm afraid I no longer live in Frazier Park and the new residents don't seem to like the cache. Sad :(

Geocache Description:

The difficulty of this cache depends on the route you decide to take - please see the long description. The actual cache should be fairly simple to find. ******Congrats to Johnislost for the FTF!!!! ********

I'm trying to get healthy and get more exercise, so I've been walking all over Frazier Park as well as my general search for caches. This long hill and semi-steep stretch on East End Road was particularly tough but well within capability - even for those of us that are out of shape. I've created three routes here that you could take to get to the cache (see map and below descriptions) - if you take the green or pink routes and walk to the cache, I recommend parking on the Park or the Boys and Girls Club parking lot indicated by yellow stars. You'll note a large building under construction - this is our future library and you can park here as well once it is finished. If you take the blue route you can drive right up to the cache.

GREEN ROUTE (Difficulty 3): This is the original route that I took, because I didn't know where I was going, and it is the longest of the two walking routes.

PINK ROUTE (Difficulty 3): This is identical to the Green Route, but includes a shortcut. From satellite view it looks like Encino Road goes through, but in reality a section is supplemented by a series of stairs made from wood. When I first walked up to the base of these stairs I assumed they were to someones house and turned right for an alternate route, but when I came around to the other side I found that they were just a link to the other half of Encino.

BLUE ROUTE (Difficulty 1): For those of you that just want the easy park and grab - the blue route is completely paved and allows you to drive all the way to the cache. However, you will miss walking through some of the nice residential area of Frazier Park and some really nice views from the upper section of Encino Road.

THE CACHE: The cache is a Crystal Light container with the log book in a zip lock. I tried to get a pen in there but couldn't find one short enough. Please BYOP! I have included about half a dozen foreign coins for the FTF :) The container is big enough for small items and small travel bugs. GOOD LUCK!!!
