Leng House is the Leeds Battalion Hostel at Heathfield nr Pateley Bridge , presented to the Boys Brigade in 1937 by W S Leng Esq, of Gateshead upon Tyne.
This area will bring many memories to a good many Boys Brigaders from the Leeds area. Although Heathfield has not changed much over the years, the Old Tin Chapel is still used by the BB , the hostel has , no longer do you have to wash in cold water or use the outside toilets, the barn next door is now a dwelling ,and you do not go to the farm for the milk! However one of the first jobs on arrival is still to make the coal fire no matter how warm it is outside!
