Geocache Description:

Cinnamon Brow Series #1

After caching for nearly two years, I thought it was about time to set my first caches, and where better than in my local area of Cinnamon Brow!

This is a two-stage multi-cache that will take you on a short walk within the park and shouldn't take too long to complete, but you will need your Geosense and Geoeyes!

Peel Hall Park

Peel Hall Park was opened in August 1986 and was one of a number of parks created throughout Warrington by the New Town Development Corporation. It is part of the Mersey Forest, the largest of the 12 community forests in England. Woodland paths, meadows, several ponds and a multisport area provide a variety of habitats for wildlife and interest for all the family. Kestrel, heron, goldfinch and treecreeper can all be spotted by the keen eyed.

Horse riders are welcome to ride in Peel Hall Park, keeping to the sign-posted wood-chip path. Access to the bridleway is off Radley Lane. The park is linked by footpaths and open spaces to the parks of Cinnamon Brow and by public footpath to the wider countryside around Winwick and Croft.

Accessibility: The park has mainly level tarmac paths suitable for prams and wheelchairs. The car park gives the easiest access for wheelchair users.

By car: The main car park is situated close to the junction of Blackbrook Avenue and Capesthorne Road. From Blackbrook Avenue turn into Capesthorne Road and then next right into Greenwood Crescent. Turn right again into Grasmere Avenue and right once more into Foxfield Close. The car park is over a small bridge at the end of the Close.

By bus: The area is well served by local buses running from Warrington Interchange. Service 23 stops at Shetland Close and Service 25 stops on Greenwood Crescent at Merrick Close, both of which are in easy walking distance of the cache.

Please observe Warrington Borough Council's notice to dog owners and cyclist's code.

Cache Information

Please ensure Stage 1 is replaced EXACTLY as found!

The final cache is a 1.6L "Lock & Lock" container inside a camo bag, containing a logbook, pencil and variety of swaps. There is also room for travel bugs and geocoins. If you take something out, please be fair and honest and leave an interesting item for the next cacher. However, travel bugs and geocoins don't count as swaps!

Why not complete my Cinnamon Brow series and find CB2 Enfield Park and CB3 Parkfields too? This is an ideal place to start the series, and it will take you on a pleasant walk through the area in just over a mile or so!

Important:

Stealth will be required if there are people around. If you cannot retrieve and replace each stage without being seen, please wait until the coast is clear!

Please replace each stage EXACTLY as you find it.
