Geocache Description:

Cache is located on private property with permission of the owner

To celebrate 100 years of Scouting, the Boy Scouts of American have teamed up with Geocaching.com to present ‘GET IN THE GAME”. Caches representing BSA and the Grand Teton Council are being stashed all over the Council, from Salmon to Malad, Jackson Hole to American Falls, and all points in between.

Each cache will represent a portion of Scouting’s past, present and future. 12 will mark the Scout Law and will be placed near Eagle Scout projects. 1 cache will be placed by each of the Council’s 5 Scout camps. Others will be placed representing Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity, Venturing and Alumni.

This cache represents ISLAND PARK SCOUT CAMP

Island Park Scout Camp opened in 1974 and has been developed into a beautiful camp with great facilities. The Mountain Man theme is the basis of the camp program. Our mascot “Teton Pete” welcomes you to camp and invites you to enjoy the quality program for scouts of all ages. It boasts a 10.5 acre crystal clear mountain lake with small boat sailing and sailing instructions. A World Class COPE course featuring 15 High COPE events and 20 low COPE events, as well as a 35 foot climbing and repelling wall.

In this cache is a post card to enter into a drawing for one of the GET IN THE GAME Geo-Coins currently owned by the Grand Teton Council. Fill it out and send it in. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A SCOUT TO WIN! Coins will be awarded beginning June 1, 2010, while the supply lasts.
