You have to go through all the waypoints defined to discover the numbers used to calculate the final coordinates. Park at the parking PKG and follow the waypoints WP01 to WP14. During your walk (at six out of fourteen waypoints), you must identify numbers:
- The year inscribed on the marker IGN culmination of the island: AAAA
- The number with four digits on a reflective barrier to Firefighter access: BBBB
-
The number of large blocks of concrete of an old blockhouse / old tower: C
- The number of the fire plug: DD
-
The number of the concrete bollard at the edge of a hotel near the sea: EE
-
The number of the voltage transformer: FF
Between waypoints 9 and 10, you can read a sign (in French) to learn about the experimental project of coastal protection. You may imagine that twenty years ago, the dune was much taller and wider than it is today. Ocean currents have taken the sand farther south to La Guérinière, to Barbâtre, to the “Pointe de la Fosse” ... Attempts to fight against the sea at the level of “Les Éloux” have all previously failed.
The coordinates of the treasure are:
N46°57,XXX W002°15,YYY
With XXX=AAAA-DD-EE-1002 and YYY=(BBBB+1)/FFxC+200
The treasure contains a little book on Noirmoutier (in French) which encloses some interesting information. THIS OBJECT IS NOT EXCHANGEABLE !
