Geocache Description:

A convenient link between GC1MRBA Lade Braes Duckpond and GC1NVCR The Road of Mussells so can be done from either end depending on how far you want to walk.

From the Duckpond take lane up side of Boase Wood to Hepburn Gardens, cross over to Lawhead Road East (then West) where it joins Buchanan Gardens turn left. A gate at N56°20.175? W002°49.630? is a shortcut through West Acres taking you to the start of the track with a fingerpost sign “To Guardbridge Road” at N56°20.175? W002°49.630?

For the rock-star groupies amongst us. West Acres was where our "very-own" KT Tunstell (a school-friend of my daughter) lived until she moved to the big smoke of London.

Beyond the wooden bridge is a cart track which passes close to Balgove House which is where Prince William stayed when he was a student here at St Andrews University.

I wonder if our future monarch once walked this very path with the young Miss Kate Middleton. (She was a fellow student here when he met her and he stayed in the house at the top of the lane.)

No matter, your job is to find a geocache and I hope that I have made it slightly more fun for you by letting you in on this “secret and interesting location”.

When the current economic recession is over the area towards the town will most probably resound to the growl of massive earthmovers and excavators as St Andrews “bulges” itself with new housing.

Please put it back so that it attaches itself firmly.
