Geocache Description:

The Border to Beaches Project is a trail completion initiative of the Manitoba Recreational Trails Association (MRTA) supported by the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) and the local trail associations.

These caches are placed during the Adventure Hike-a-thon along the Centennial Trail from the Bear Lake trail entrance on Hwy 44 west to Caddy Lake. They are here to show geocachers the wonder and the nature that is the Manitoba Whiteshell area and the trails that show it. The caches are placed in such a way as to provide no environmental impact on the area, they are placed closely to the trail system and require nothing more than a really good inspection by eye in order to find the cache location. The toughest is a level 4.5 that can be found solely by observation and nothing more. Look, listen and observe; the woods are alive.

Border to Beaches is a project that encourages healthy active living, linking communities, education, supports tourism and commerce and promotes the social and economic development of local areas. Once complete the trail will not only be a great recreation asset for Manitoba it will be an icon of the tourist industry.

A family oriented hide for the trails. This is a great break from the trail slogging and also brings you close to facilities and a beautiful picnic area. Enjoy!
