Geocache Description:

"Talking Mountain", named for the many electronic antennaes and transmitting stations at the summit is also known as Santiago Peak (elev.5,687 ft). This is the high point of the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County. Accessible by 2WD & 4WD trucks or if you're a glutton for pain--try mountain biking or even hiking to the summit.

This is my first cache! I went here with the SoCal Club Xterra (SCCX) on their monthly xcursion and I decided to hide a cache after learning from senior members that no cache was hidden here yet. Accessible via Indian Truck Trail exit off I-15 about 9 miles North of Lake Elsinore. The 12 mile ascent will take you through some beautiful forested areas.

Cache is a shoebox size opaque Tupperware container hidden under big rocks. Lots of beer cans around the rocky area indicating a purely male point of interest. You can park your vehicle on a large area suitable for a helicopter landing past the array of antennas. I parked within 40 feet from the cache and hiked down to the rockies. My GPS was accurate to 14 feet. BEWARE OF RATTLESNAKES! Please bring a hiking pole or walking stick to poke in and around the rocks.
