Geocache Description:

This is the access area to the lower, easier climb to the reservoir except for all the down-fall. Look for a cammo bison in a tree.

Original description by goodsamfam: "We were told by another cacher that over the winter there were about 6 tree falls that had not been taken care of yet this year (May 2010) but it is the better point to go go up if you don't care for a steep beginning. The last approximately 1/4 of a mile is rough with about a 400-foot elevation gain. I love this trail; my favorite so far in Alaska. It's hard in the beginning, hard at the end and hard in the middle with a casual break between it all. Great trail... I hope you enjoy this as much as have. I would highly recommend water and a snack on this trail!"
Note by BerrySeekers3: I adopted this cache because I think it's worth having it in there between the other Salmon Creek Historical Series caches. As of June 2017, the container is a small cammo'd bison but the description is still applicable. The GPS seems to want to flip around to either side of the trail in this area, but use your GeoSmarts and you'll find it.
