Geocache Description:

A regular cache on an abandoned road in Marcellus.

Lyons Road is an easy route between Marcellus and Camillus. An extension of Lyons Road used to connect Marcellus to Howlett Hill, but this road has been closed and long forgotten.

Although the land on both sides of the road is privately owned, the road itself is still owned by the Town of Marcellus. The cache is located somewhere on the road itself, so please respect the surrounding property and only walk along the road. Mother Nature will punish you for straying from the pavement anyway because there's quite a bit of poison ivy surrounding the road (but not on the road itself). It's a nice hike up a pretty good sized hill to get to this one, but the terrain is pretty easy-there's no bushwhacking for this one.

The top and bottom of the old road are gated, so park at the parking coordinates at the gate and walk around it. You can still do this without entering private property. PLEASE USE THE PARKING COORDINATES WE PROVIDED!!!! The other gated entrance is near homes and we would rather avoid raising unnecessary suspicion.
