This is a nano cache and is placed very close to the AA plaque situated on a house at the corner of Reeth Road and Quakers Lane which commemorates a Total Solar Eclipse in Richmond in June 1927.
So don’t be “Holding Out for a Hero” just follow a "Rockin' Good Way" to Richmond and don’t get “Lost in France” on the way or even think that "It's a Heartache” to do this cache. Many years ago when I was a small child and my grandmother was still alive. She always used to recount the tale of the day her father took her to watch the shadow cast by the umbra of the Solar Eclipse move across the Swale valley in 1927 which the plaque commemorates. Parking in Newbiggin at N54 24.225 W001 44.450 Parking is free for 2 hours but you will need a parking disk which is available at local shops. If you are a disabled cacher you can park closer within approx 20m of the cache site opposite the shop or the Chinese Take Away. THIS CACHE IS wheelchair accessible and is located very close to the pavement but assistance WOULD BE required to retrieve the final cache. Sorry, but it can only be reached from a standing position to prevent it being muggled. This can be a HIGH Muggle area at times and you can be EASILY observed from the local shop so please be aware of this when looking and please replace the cache carefully so that it cannot be seen from the footpath. Please test it for a secure fixing before leaving the cache site. Enjoy!
