We were out doing some caching along the Phoenix
Road between Highway 3 and Greenwood and decided this route needed
a couple of extra caches so we placed this one and Pappy90 &
Dyelo placed another one as well.
This cache is located nearby the old townsite of Phoenix. The town
once had a population of 4000 citizens. The City of Phoenix was
located near the top of the mountain and had its heydays during the
mining boom. Copper ore was extracted and railroads carried the raw
material to the smelters in Greenwood and Grand Forks.
