THE STAIRS HAVE BEEN ABDUCTED (most likely by aliens)!!!!
As the local UFO search team can tell you Sedona has experienced many extra-terrestrial activity in the area for many years. Its no doubt that this cache has made the free-standing stairs popular amongst them & so they had to take the stairs. Why may you ask? I have no idea...
After only 2 weeks of this cache being put into place the stairs have been removed - or abducted by aliens! Why? No idea. They offered a very nice photo op for people of Cathedral Rock & the area surrounding, but now they're gone.
Even though the stairs are no longer there I am going to keep the cache where it is.
You can park anywhere on the dirt road part of Upper Red Rock Loop Rd, but just by a free-standing wooden fence is a pull-out for cars. There is a very nice path that leads from the wooden fence to where the stairs used to be. Remember to have your Red Rock Pass.
You do need your own pen/pencil for the log book.
