Geocache Description:

A tour round some of the lesser known memorials and interesting structures in Aldershot Military town.

Aldershot, Home of the British Army since the 1860s. Aldershot was chosen due the availability of surrounding land for training Infantry and cavalry. Once notably the Depot of the Parachute Regiment, that now is used by Army Medical Services, and various Army detachments are garrisoned in the area.
Placing a small box in the military town, which hopefully many people will visit and having regard to the Security issues that could be caused, I hope you’ll agree may not be the most appropriate thing to do. Therefore the cache is not within the Military town but close by. If challenged by Service personnel just explain Geocaching and hopefully they won’t shoot you! The cache is not at the coordinates given.

The Clues can be done in any order and are ideal for cyclists or walkers. For Cache and Dashers there is parking near to all the structures and the cache itself, with the exception of Nos 3 and 5. You’ll just have to work round that but please take care and abide by the Military By-Laws and Road markings at all times. They are on busy roads so keep Geo-tots and Geo-hounds close by and under control. Please use the crossings for the Main Road for your safety. Whilst on Military property, the public are usually allowed free access through the Garrison. There maybe times however where there are restrictions. The clues are all accessible to disabled with assistance but the final cache might need a bit of help, although you should be able to get close to it,
You are looking for a camo tape covered small cylinder, bring your own pencil/pen. Please replace and cover the cache well.
There are a couple of other wonderful caches to be found in this area connected to Aldershot’s military heritage, Wellington’s Booty and some along the Basingstoke Canal so please consider doing those, if you haven’t already, as well.
Cycling it should take no more than 30 mins.
Walking about an hour and a half.
Please Note: This is a Military Training Area on which live firing and other pyrotechnics may be used. The area is generally open public access. One of the safety rules for public access is:- Do not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up any metal objects lying on the ground. Please obey all byelaws and locally posted information concerning times when the area may be closed. These may be physical barriers, flags or lights.
