It does help to have a California Valley map, but not needed if some what familiar. You will be close to another attempt to survive the harsh conditions of the Plains just another home site that had to pull up stakes & leave.
The roads are dirt so no rainy weather travel. The grass is very high this year so be careful of fire out there. 2 wheel drive is fine. There are many caches in the area so do your home work & have fun.
