Geocache Description:

Another in the DSOG series. You are looking for a 4" round camo'd screw-top container. GPSmap 60CSx coordinates were averaged for 3 minutes to an accuracy of 5.8 feet.

Minerva was named for Minerva Adeline Sanders who donated land for a railroad station when the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway built through the area in 1891. In 1921, a shallow oil field was discovered in the area leading to a small oil boom. Oil production in Minerva eventually peaked in 1927, with a gross yield of 455,985 barrels for the year. In 1959, Minerva lost its rail service. The Minerva post office was discontinued in the mid-1960s. The population was still reported in the sixtys in 2003.
Fatfogy cemetery caches are always placed with regards to the location, so please be mindful of your presence here, watch where you step and be respectful of the residents interred here. Please carefully re-hide the container better to maintain the integrity of the cache.
