Originally Horsell Common was part of the Great Park of Windsor, in a section called King's Waste stretching out to the (Old) Woking Road. It eventually passed into private ownership and by 1805 that owner was the Earl of Onslow,. At that time thousands of common land areas across the nation were being enclosed to create much-needed agricultural land but the Earl of Onslow ensured that Horsell Common was saved by being exempted. www.horsellcommon.co.uk/200years_horsell_common.php
Short walk from Car Park N51 19.998 W000 32.935, follow established footpaths until about the last 30m when rabbit tracks are your only option.
The Cache is a small round tupperware box in black tape. Due to muggle infested activity this Cache is out of the way but under tree canopy and GPS Struggled to get a good fix, so have added a wey point N51 20.175 W000 32.877 from a higher path walking on a bearing of 311 degrees for 25m.
You are looking for a tree that started to grow along the floor?
A short walk from the Cache is the Sandpit N 51 20.237W 000 32.918 this is where the Martians landed in “war of the worlds.” Dog friendly walk.
