"On The Beech" Traditional Cache
squirrel and nut: This cache site seems prone to muggle damage. The last time included the jamming of broken glass into the place where the cache should be. I’m not willing to take the risk of injury to a fellow catcher so I have decided to archive this cache. Thanks to all who have found it in the past and placed complimentary logs.

This cache is intended as part of a circuit, or can be picked up on it's own. May be very difficult in winter due to steep, muddy slopes.
Cache container is a screw top beaker with a log book and some small booty.
This can be a muddy, slippy path in poor weather and should not be attempted in icy weather due to the steep slopes.
The area is close to the "vanished" village of Oakbank.
Parking can be fairly close roadside in Oakbank (dead end road) and entry to the woodland can be found at N55 53.194 W003 28.243 or at the Oakbank Bing parking off the A71 bypass at N55 52.780 W003 28.468, which is recommended if attempting the circuit of caches in the area.
Oakbank was once a thriving community based around the oil works. The football pitch and bowling green survive along with a few houses.
From Oakbank Bing car park head for N55 53.020 W003 28.490 enjoying the views on the way. Turn right here towards N55 53.007 W003 28.423 which is the Woodland Entrance in Oakbank. Turn left towards N55 53.194 W003 28.243 from where Mid Calder Bank Street is 0.8miles.
