Geocache Description:

Found this location on a recent Jordan River adventure with fellow Geocachers.

The structure that you have located is the original Jordan River Powerhouse that was built between 1909-1911 and first started supplying power to Victoria in 1911. Over 1000 workers were involved in the project that included the building of a 5.5 mile water flume made originally from red cedar but later replaced with one made from Douglas fir. The flume carried the water from the Diversion Dam to the powerhouse. This original powerhouse was eventually replaced by a powerhouse on the west side of Jordan River in 1971 that was able to delivery 6 times the electricity capacity.

To locate the cache there is no need to venture into any of the structures near the posted coordinates. The cache is located near an out building behind the main powerhouse.

There is an unactivated orange Gecko geocoin for the FTF.
