This is a nano. It is located at a way point if doing the circuit of the area, or can be a quick cache and dash if you don't mind a dead end road. Beware muggles.
I have placed a few caches in this area and this was one of the way points that leads to the safer paths, so I thought it was worth placing a way of recognising the area. Oakbank was a thriving community for 120 years while the oil works was in action. There is still a successful bowling club and the football pitch looks to be in fair condition. The nearby bing now looks like a more natural hill, and research into what will grow on such material has resulted in a green and pleasant area, with good views in all directions at the top. This cache was originally attached to the sturdy hinge of a large gate at the entrance to the park. The entrance was changed and the gate removed so the cache was moved to the smaller gate a pace or two away from the original. This gate has now been removed, hinges and all (stolen?) along with the cache. I have relocated the replacement cache a few paces in the other direction and have changed the hint appropriately. Happy caching.
