My first hide, simple and easy.
Here is a little pocket park in my hometown honoring the veterans
of our armed services and named, appropriately, Veterans Park. This
Memorial Day hide is in recognition and gratitude for their
service, protecting our great country and our lives and
freedoms.
A special thanks to my not-nearly-often-enough caching partner
1SGRock, who even after retiring from active service continues to
help and teach our young people in the JROTC.
And, to all of you ... Ave!
Initial contents:
1. For the FTF a log sheet with a pristine blank space for your
handle + a small, but wonderfully detailed etching of our first
commander in chief done in green ink on special Treasury
paper
3. A flag bracelet
3. Tiny sculptures of a machine-gunner and a plane done in colorful
plastic
4. A red, white, and blue ribbon with an eagle pin
Bring along your own patriotic/military swag for trade.
FTF congrats to GeckoFish, scrams, and cowgirlcacher! (wasn't me in
the truck, though ;>)
11-13-10 UPDATE: Cache is back in play, shifted slightly to a
better hiding spot and with a new (and more appropriate) container.
There's also new swag, including an unactivated Support the Troops
geo-tag for the FTF the revived cache.
