This cache is located a tenth of a mile off the Amphitheater Loop Trail starting at the information kiosk in the Hittle Bottom Recreation Area. It’s a trail hike except for the last tenth of a mile to the cache. Hittle Bottom is 24 miles north of Moab along state route 128, a very scenic drive in Utah’s canyonlands country, and this hike offers great expansive views of the area.
The entire Loop Trail is about 3 miles long, but you needn’t hike the whole trail to reach the cache. It is located less than a mile away, on top of the bluffs across from the trailhead. Locating the cache itself won’t be hard. The difficulty lies in choosing which part of the trail to follow once you head out towards the cache. The attached refrence waypoint will steer you to the opening in the bluffs that gets you closest to the cache site. Some elevation gain is required to get on top of the bluffs and to reach the cache itself.
