Eagle Rock Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Real Hoot: We put a replacement (much smaller) container in a new spot, but instead of changing the coords and container size, we decided it would be better to archive this one and put the replacement out as a new cache altogether - Eagle Rock Again GC3C4YV.

Geocache Description:

This cache is in Breakheart Reservation, just off of Eagle Rock Trail.

Watch your footing when approaching the cache. Also, it's not advisable to seek this cache when there's rain or snow; parts of the trail are rocky/all rock and steep, especially nearing the top of Eagle Rock.

Cache contents are a logbook, writing utensils, disposable camera (take a picture/replace in cache - we'll try to post pics online after the camera is full), and trade items. Besides first pick of trade items, first finder gets a FTF pin (clipped to the logbook). Most cachers already know this, but for anyone not aware: Please do not leave any type of food, liquids, scented, or meltable items in the cache, such as energy bars, candy, gum, bubble liquid, candles, crayons, etc. Also, please be sure close the container securely, re-hide it back in the same place, and replace the camo the best you can. Thanks!

Depending on your approach, you might have already gone over the top of Eagle Rock when you get to the cache, but if not, you might want to consider going a bit farther to the top to take in some nice views. You're almost there!

Maps of Breakheart are sometimes available at both the Saugus and Wakefield entrances, but the maps go quickly. You can, however, print a map (look for the PDF file) from the Friends of Breakheart Reservation website, linked as the "related web page" near the top of this page.
