This is another amazing adventure on the Koolau Summit Trail. There
are 3 routes to get to the cache site:
1) From the Poamoho Trail, about 1.5 hours on the KST – one
way. Permit needed. This Section of the KST is one of the nicest on
this side of the island.
2) Up Puu Pauao, 15 minutes on the KST, but this route is tough
going up, and I wouldn’t go down this way. There is a lonely
CRider cache waiting to be found on this route.
3)From the Schofield-Waikane Trail, about 2 hours on the KST
– one way. Permit needed. Heavy vegetation makes this section
a little more challenging, but still a good section to do
You can mix and match your entry and ext points to make a more
exciting trip. Either way you look at it, you are looking at a good
day of hiking (if you decide to do it in a day.)
This cache was placed on the 2nd day of a 22 mile backpacking trip
that started from Laie and ended in Wahiawa.

Near Schofield-Waikane, the trail from Puu Pauao seems like a bad

Always hike with a partner and let someone know your
plan. The weather can change very quickly, we started the
morning in pouring rain and ended in the blazing sun. Mahalo to the
others on this hike: Lost1605, and BC.
